1:22 p.m. – Daniel Shays Highway patrol officer was advised by a motorist of a young, unaccompanied child near the roadway. Followed reporting party and found a 4-year-old in the front yard with no visible supervision. Found mother asleep on the couch who stated their grandmother was supposed to be watching the children, but must have left without telling her. Child was spoken with about staying away from the roadway.
3 p.m. – New Athol Road first floor burglar alarm activation. Key holder not responding. Building checked and secured.
4:29 p.m. – West Main Street caller reported their mother’s boyfriend was driving her vehicle around Orange without a license. Plate number provided and call given to patrol.
8:33 p.m. – East Main Street caller reported a vehicle for a marked lanes violation and following too closely. Vehicle had pulled into Walmart. Call given to patrol.
3:26 a.m. – Town Center patrol officer observed two individuals having a picnic in the park.
6:15 a.m. – Patrol checked on a vehicle parked at the boat ramp, noticed windows were covered up. Occupant was resting in the vehicle waiting to paddle board on the river that morning.
12:10 p.m. – Patrol advised two parties about allowing their three dogs to defecate at the park without cleaning up after them. They were provided a copy of the bylaws, and were informed that future failures to clean up after the dogs would result in a $50 fine per dog. The advised parties affirmed they understood and cleaned up after the dogs.
4:04 p.m. – Caller reported a tractor trailer took down low-hanging wires at route 202 and 122 and that traffic was backing up. State Police were on the scene and remained until National Grid could arrive.
4:48 p.m. – Red Brook Lane caller wanted on record that they continue to be harassed by the neighbors.
5:08 p.m. – Officer mediated a property exchange for a East Main Street caller whose former PCA would not return handicap placard.
8:23 p.m. – East Main Street traffic stop for failure to use headlights.
